ALNM Chairman

Hamid Kantara was born and raised in Lebanon during the 1975 war. He moved and has lived in Houston Texas since 1985. Hamid has been in the Health Care profession every since working as an EMT/Paramedic and then earning his degree as Doctor of Chiropractic.  Hamid ran and served on City Council in the City of League City from 2001 until 2004. He also served as Mayor Pro-Tem from 2003 until 2004.

He became very active with the Republican Party of Texas. He co-founded a County Young Republican Club and served as vice president and later president of the club. He introduced a Constitutional Amendment to the Texas Young Republican Federation to create a Cultural Outreach position to bridge the gap between the Republican Party and “minority voters.”

Hamid has been named one of "The 300 most prominent Lebanese Americans" in the country.

Hamid’s focus and determination brought ALNM to a more internationally recognized organization. His experience in politics and leaderships came handy in shaping the foundation of ALNM. He led several delegations to the Middle East to meet with cabinet members, members of parliament, political leaders, clergy, and educational as well as non-profit organizations.

Hamid served on the City of Houston Mayor’s International Affairs and Development Council for Middle East and North Africa region from 2006 until may of 2010 when he resigned to focus attention on National Security matters.
